How does our face age?

We lose volume on our faces as we age.

Ageing results in other structural rearrangements of the face. When we were younger, the fat in our face is distributed evenly, pumping up the forehead, temples, cheeks, and areas surrounding our eyes and mouth. As we age, we tend to lose that volume of fat. It clumps up and shifts downwards, resulting in loose and saggy skin, baggy chins and jowls. 

Another common sign of facial ageing is wrinkles. The deeper the wrinkles on our forehead and between our eyebrows appear, creating creases in our skin. Finer wrinkles are the result of smoking, sun damage, and the natural degeneration of elements in our skin that help keep it soft, smooth, and glowing.
