I want social distancing from my pimples!

Pimples happen at the most inconvenient times. There is no good time to have pimples. We simply do not want them. Now that a pimple has erupted, what can you do yourself, before rushing off to see a doctor?

Purposefully cleanse your face. Most times we clean the centre of our face, namely the eyebrows, forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. There is a tendency to miss the sides of the face where the hairline is, the jawline, and just under the jaw (where we always point to for our double-chin!). Put on a shower cap or the likes, to pull hair backwards and expose the hairline, so that these areas can be cleansed.

Remove makeup completely with proper makeup remover. There is no need to wipe the skin hard off the makeup. You will only need to apply wet cotton pads on the face. Leave the wet cotton pads it stuck on for a while, before gently wiping off the makeup. Test with clean and wet cotton pads to ensure there is no residual makeup left uncleaned. If there is, repeat the steps, till you get all the makeup off.

If you have a zit that keeps staring at you, zap it by this effective method I have devised:

1. Open an alcohol swab, squeeze the alcohol onto both ends of a cotton bud.

2. Dap one end of the soaked cotton bud onto one pimple (one only!). One end for one pimple, remember. You can dap one pimple multiple times with the same end or use a few cotton bud tips to apply.

3. Do this once in the morning and once at night.

In about 3 to 5 days, that darn zit will dry up and “drop” off by itself. There will be no horrible red marks of scars. Yippee!

Try these tips out and let me know if they have worked for you. If any pimples persist and you had enough of it, see your medical doctor who treats acne.
